General Job Description

MPR is actively growing in the energy and product development areas and is looking for unique individuals with an electrical engineering background for fulltime positions after graduation. Individuals will work on multi-disciplined project teams working closely with the client to define the root problem, define project requirements, prepare project plans, cost estimates and schedules, perform analysis and report on numerous projects each year, with no two being identical.

Career progression includes developing technical expertise as well as increasing responsibility for task management, supervision, client relations, and business development. Our engineers develop skills spanning a spectrum of engineering activities including fluid flow, thermodynamics, stress analysis, finite element analysis, vibrations, circuit design, software development, product development, and instrumentation and control systems.

Electrical Power Engineer – This candidate will be an electrical engineer familiar with electrical power systems and equipment, power systems analysis techniques, rotating electric machines, power electronics, metering, relaying, and control systems. The candidate will possess strong analytical skills, practical engineering knowledge and excellent verbal and written communication.

Product Development Electrical Engineer- The candidate will be an electrical engineer familiar with hardware electronics, control systems, sensors as well as computing environments for analog and digital printed circuit board design and layout capture.

Relevant Skills

Successful candidates will possess a strong academic record (at least a 3.4 gpa) and be highly motivated self-starters with good attention to detail. In addition, successful candidates will have the following skills and capabilities:

• Advanced computer skills preferred, including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), analysis programs such as MATLAB, and design programs such as SolidWorks

• Strong analytical skills including the ability to problem solve
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of the organization
• Follow through with all tasks and assignments in a timely manner
• Attention to detail

A moderate amount of travel to client facilities is expected, based on the specific requirements of the projects.
