You are probably familiar with the amazing properties of surface tension in water, but did you know that you can float 1 yen coins and paperclips on top of bowls of water? On first glance, this seems like an impossible task. After all, if you drop a coin into a bowl of water, it just sinks to the bottom and gives no semblance of ever floating.
