Time traveling is still a mystery for us human beings. And it's one of the most intriguing topics these days. While we're here wondering how would it be like, movie producers are working to show us time travel. Here are some of the best time travel-themed movie examples from throughout the years.

1. Planet of the Apes (1968)

Planet of the Apes is probably one of the oldest movies about the time-traveling. The film tells us a story about four astronauts. The crew time travels to the year 2006 by mistake. And when they land on an unknown planet, things start to get messier. They find out that the planet is taken over by apes. Planet of the Apes is not just a great time travel movie; it's also a great early example of a sci-fi movie.

2. Time Bandits (1981)

Kevin is a creative child of two annoying parents. One day, six bandits appear in Kevin's bedroom, and the adventure starts here. Time Bandits is using time-traveling to describe us about the good and the bad. While doing that, it is also using a little help from a kid's perspective, and some dwarfs. 

3. Back to the Future (1985)

In Back to the Future, an eccentric doctor, Dr. Brown invents a car, and this car can travel in time. Marty is the first one to use this machine but when he goes back in time by mistake, his own fate changes. When Back to the Future was released, it was beyond its time, and thus became so famous. It became a cult in a very short time. 

4. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)

Bill and Ted are two college students, and they have to finish their history class project; otherwise, their graduation might be at stake. Someone named Rufus that travels in time in a telephone booth finds Bill and Ted. He tells them that they have the utmost importance for humanity. Then they find themselves in a time travel adventure.

5. Groundhog Day (1993)

Our main character, Phil Connors, doesn't really like Groundhog Day. This day is just too boring and modest for Phil, but he has to look sincere and happy for his duties. After a snowstorm, he thinks that this horrible day finally comes to an end. When he wakes up tomorrow, he finds out that he is living the same day again and again. Groundhog Day is a classic for film lovers, even today.   

6. Donnie Darko (2001)

Donnie Darko is a 16-year-old teenager at '80s, and he starts seeing some hallucinations. Especially a vision of a man in a rabbit costume. One day Donnie leaves his line in life and decides to follow his visions. This movie is an excellent mixture of thriller and sci-fi films.

7. The Time Machine (2002)

Alexander Hartdegen is a mad scientist and claims that he invented the time machine. Nobody believes him, and at the end of the day, he uses the machine and meets the future of our humanity. The Time Machine is an adapted movie from H.G. Wells' same-named book. Wells was one of the first users of 'time machines' in literature.

8. 13 Going on 30 (2004)

 

Jenna's 13. birthday was one of the worst days of her life. She hides in her closet and wishes to be 30 immediately. She wakes up as a 30-year-old woman and is shocked. Now she has to get used to her new adult life. 13 Going on 30 doesn't involve any time machines in it but still, it's a great time travel themed movie.

9. The Time Traveler's Wife (2009)

Henry DeTamble and Clare Abshire meet for the first time in a library, then they find out that Henry is a time traveler. At first, Henry doesn't even know what that means. While time passes, they get married, and Clare finds herself lonely because of her husbands' disappearances. Love and time-traveling is presented together in this movie. 

10. Interstellar (2014)

In Interstellar, the earth is not suitable for humans to inhabit anymore. Now, a group of astronauts and scientists have to find a new planet to live. But it won't be easy, time relativity is not helping them, and they have to be fast. Interstellar is still a famous movie after five years but deserves all the fuss.

Marvel's Dr. Strange was a real surgeon in the past. After a terrible accident and unfortunate events in his life, he gains powers that no one could even imagine. Magic and power unite and creates this story, with the assistance of time travel.
