Noisy vehicles: Some love them, some despise them; there is not a middle ground really. Whether you define them as a statement or an inconvenience, it is for sure that the new 1,400 horsepower Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 will make some noise indeed.
The Ford Performance and RTR-tuned Mach-E makes 1,500 lb-ft of torque from its seven motors. As Jalopnik reports, that numbers are multiplied by the differentials to let out insane shreds and clouds.
Professional rally driver invited for the first drive
Following the amazing reveal just a few days ago, Ford has invited professional rally driver Ken Block for the first drive of the all-electric car and we can safely state that he shred those tires just fine.
With Block behind the wheel, the long video starts with the work that went into Ford's new electric crossover platform. The video also has quotes from Vaughn Gittin Jr., who has worked on the Mach-E as its development driver. He stated that the goal that RTR and Ford Performance had in mind was to "explore the challenges of controlling the potential of new electric vehicle technology."
The second part of the video is where the action happens with seven electric motors absolutely shredding rubber against rock with 1,400 horsepower. In the description, Block wrote that the car was built specifically for "sliding sideways and slaying tires" which he proceeds to do immediately.
It sounds like no other
However, the noise the vehicle makes has become a widely talked topic among viewers. You might not want to watch the video with your headphones on since let's just say that with all that power comes great voice.
It certainly doesn't sound like any other high-performance Mustang, in fact, it's characteristic noise almost reminds us of Formula E race cars. Also, we have to state that it sounds like a roller coaster with all the mechanic parts in addition to the hundreds of people screaming.
