1500 Year-Old Mummy Found Wearing 'Adidas Sneakers'

Yes, you read that right, a Mongolian mummy dating back to the 6th century A.D. was just found buried with a large collection of belongings, including shoes that look quite similar to modern Adidas sneakers. Many are saying that this is proof of time travel, but the archaeologists behind the discovery are saying the shoes and other belongings are simply proof of how skilled the craftsmen of the time were. First reported on by the Siberian Times, the mummy is believed to be a female and was found at an altitude of 2803 meters.

Inside the tomb, a saddle, a clay vase, a kettle, and even the remains of an entire horse were found buried with the Turkic mummy who appears to have been from the middle class. The mummy hasn't been examined incredibly thoroughly yet due to the careful procedure required to unwrap the remains which were tightly wrapped in a felt material. The archaeologists behind the find say that "'it is the first complete Turkic burial at least in Mongolia - and probably in all Central Asia. This is a very rare phenomenon. These finds show us the beliefs and rituals of Turkics."

Four different Mongolian coats were found made from cotton having beautifully embroidered designs. The types of clothes in the burial site as well as the materials found were used to date the mummy to have lived around 1500 years ago, or the 6th century A.D.

Everything found at the site was very well preserved, which was likely due to the cold temperatures at such a high altitude. Specifically, this discovery will give a detailed view of the Turkic people of the time, and culture that existed therein.

Was this mummy one of a time traveler from the future who brought along his pair of Adidas, or just simply  coincidence of design? One thing that is hard to grasp with the find is how complex and intricate some of the tools and materials are that were found preserved with the mummy. So what do you think?
