Which companies do people want to work for these days? This is the very question LinkedIn attempted to answer in their recent top companies of 2017 report. They collected data from their job site of over 500 million members. They found the top 50 companies that most US members wanted to work for. LinkedIn checked interest in the company's listed jobs, interest in their brands and employees and employee retention to compile the list. If you want to know more here is how they did it. So without further ado here is the list of top 25 companies to work for, according to LinkedIn that is.

25. Capital One
This entry on the list of most desired companies to work for might come as a surprise for some. Capital One is a bank holding company based in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

Adobe is one of the biggest software companies in the world and is based in San Jose, California. They operate worldwide and have over 15,000 employees across the globe.
Stryker, founded in 1941, is a medical tech company. They have grown exponentially since the 1940's and now have 33,000 employees worldwide.
BlackRock is a global investment management company that was founded in 1988. They started with 8 staff members in a single room and have grown to employ over 13,000 employees worldwide.
21. Jones Lang LaSalle
JLL, based in Chicago, Illinois, is a global real estate company. They currently employ around 77,000 people worldwide and growing. The company's history stretches over 200 years.

20. JP Morgan Chase and Company
JP Morgan, the financial behemoth is the sixth largest bank in the world! Well, by total assets anyway. They employ over 240,000 employees across the world and continue to be a highly influential organization. Like JLL they have been "knocking around" for over 200 years.
Originally founded as BankAmericard in 1958, Visa is a global leader in financial services. You'll see them everywhere, there is probably on your debit or credit card. They employ around 14,000 people across the world.

CBRE is a commercial real estate company based in LA, California. They are a big player in real estate all over the world. They currently employ around 75,000 people worldwide.
Founded in 2006, Twitter has become giant in social networking across the world. They have around 313 Million active users monthly and employ around 3,400 people worldwide.
16. Under Armour
Based in Baltimore, Maryland, Under Armour is a sportswear company that now employs around 14,000 people worldwide. The company was founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank.
Workday was founded in 2005 in Pleasanton, California. They are a cloud-based financial services vendor.

Dell is giant in the personal computer industry. They are based in Round Rock, Texas and develop, sell and support computers across the world. They current employ about 145,000 personnel.
13. McKinsey and Company
McKinsey and Company is a New York City-based company who provide worldwide management consultancy. Their specialties include qualitative and quantitative analysis for their clients. Their client base ranges from leading businesses, non-governmental organizations and not-for-profits.
Founded in 1997 in Scotts Valley, California, Netflix is a giant amongst the entertainment industry. They currently employ around 3,200 people and are a widely recognized brand.
Airbnb was founded in 2008 in San Francisco. They are an online hospitality service with around 2,000 employees. They have become a trusted community marketplace for members to list, discover and book unique accommodations around the globe.
10. Comcast NBC Universal
Comcast NBC Universal, if the name wasn't a hint, is a massive media conglomeration. They have their headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. To date, they have around 160,000 employees across the globe. The following is their recruitment video.
9. Walt Disney Company
Well, who wouldn't want to work with Mickey Mouse? This should be no surprise on the list of most desired companies to work for. Disney has an illustrious history dating back to 1923. Walt Disney has grown from simple animations to the second largest mass media conglomerate in the world. They even recently acquired the rights to the Star Wars franchise. Do not ruin it, please!
8. Time Warner
Yet another mass media entertainment conglomerate, Time Warner was created in 1990 in New York through a merger between, well Time Inc and Warner Brothers. They currently employ around 25,000 people.
Probably no surprises here to find them as one of the most desired companies to work for. Apple has become one of the world's largest tech companies, by revenue, in the world. They employ around 110,000 people across the globe.
Probably no surprises here. Tesla has come a long way since it was founded by Martin Eberhard and Mark Tarpenning with Elon Musk joined the board a little later on. Tesla has recently made inroads into the solar industry but it mainly focuses on electric-powered cars. They employ around 30,000 people across the globe.
Uber is a transportation network company based in San Francisco, California. They employ around 12,000 people.
Yet another San Francisco-based company, Salesforce deals mainly with cloud computing technology. They employ around 25,000 people.
Were you waiting for them? Well, here they are. Since 2004, Facebook has become arguably the ultimate social media service. They employ around 17,000 people.
Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, Amazon has grown into the first stop for online shopping. They currently employ a staggering 341,400 people around the world.
You probably guessed this from the start. Google and by extension Alphabet are the world's most desired company to work for. They currently employ around 72,000 people around the world.
