The founder of Space X and CEO of Tesla has had an impressive life. As an avid Twitter user and the guest of many TV shows, you would think there is not much people don't know about Elon Musk.
Still, here are a few facts you probably have missed about the eccentric billionaire.
1. Musk began building rockets as a kid
In a Rolling Stone interview, Musk claimed he was off building rokcets from just a kid. “I’m shocked that I have all my fingers," said the intrepid entrepreneur.
2. At age 9, he taught himself to code
Musk reportedly taught himself to code at age 9 and even made a video game at age 12. The game was called Blastar and it was appropriately space themed. He later sold that game to a computer magazine for $500 but you can still play it online.

4. At age 16, he tried to build an arcade
He teamed up with his brother for this project and got pretty far, even signing a lease. In the end, however, he was told by the city that he was too young to open a video arcade.
5. He dropped out of Stanford after just two days
Musk attended Stanford to study physics but dropped out after just two days. He already had two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and he was founding his first firm Zip2 Corporation.
6. Musk turned his college house into a nightclub
During his time at the University of Pennsylvania, Musk and his roommate paid their rent by turning their house into a nightclub.
7. Musk makes less than $40,000 as the Tesla CEO
His salary is really that low and it is rumored he does not even bother to cash in the checks.
8. Musk has lived on just 1$ a day
It seems Musk, can go without the money. When he arrived in North America he had a budget of 1$ a day and survived by buying food in bulk.
9. Musk was the inspiration for Tony Stark
Iron Man is based a little bit on Elon Musk. In fact, parts of the second movie, Iron Man 2, are even filmed at Space X headquarters and Musk even makes a notable cameo appearance.
