Apple jumps in a new collaboration with Singapore, after recently having opened its glamorous dome-shaped store in the country.
The new partnership with the government of Singapore introduces an app called LumiHealth, as the name suggests, an attempt to promote healthy activity of Singaporeans through Apple's existing design Apple Watch.
The collaboration necessitates an Apple Watch to join in, as the LumiHealth will be downloaded through the watch.
A two-year program with a lot to achieve
The app is built to support Singapore's citizens' healthy lifestyle through completing wellness challenges on their Apple Watches and iPhones. And what appears motivating is that users will earn up to 380 Singapore dollars (approximately $280) in the course of two years. It seems like a good deal, right?
LumiHealth is currently available for pre-order on App Store and we can tell by the program's length of two years that the new initiative will not be a flash in the pan. Users will be able to download it from late October 2020.
To make this experience more fun, the users will be represented by an intergalactic explorer who leads them through personalized activity tasks and goals such as walking, swimming, yoga, and more.
When the users reach their goals by completing the given tasks, the explorer goes back home. The users, in return, will experience the perfect sense of doing something productive.
The app will potentially care more about users' health than themselves, as it will remind them to pay a visit to the hospitals for health screenings and immunizations. Not even mentioning the challenges to fall into a habit of good sleep and healthy eating.
“Singapore has one of the world’s leading healthcare systems, and we are thrilled to be partnering with them to incorporate Apple Watch and LumiHealth into their holistic approach to well-being,” explained Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
Being one of those rare apps you pay to keep yourself healthy, we'll see if the Apple Watch owners in Singapore are willing to try it out.
