If you own a pair of Apple's AirPods, you will most likely enjoy this piece of information: Apple's next generation of AirPods may be noise canceling. A welcome feature to the already-successful AirPod story.
AirPods fit nice and snug in the ears already — they look good, they work amazingly, they're hands-free and hassle-free.
Currently, in their second generation, this leaked third-gen version may be the most welcome one yet.
Apple accidentally let slip the news
This exciting news has been discovered and disclosed by Guilherme Rambo, who works and writes for 9to5Mac. According to Rambo, the information was accidentally shared by Apple in their beta version of the upcoming software release, the iOS 13.2.
Rambo dug up an icon that can be found in the latest beta software's Accessibility section. This icon suggests the next version of the AirPods will have noise cancelation and will be named B298.
The name doesn't quite roll off the tongue, but this is exciting news for Apple and music lovers out there.
Apple and AirPods
This information, though not confirmed by Apple, does make sense. Apple continuously works on upgrading their current systems and wearables, making them better and more stylish.
Timing-wise, the new AirPods would be ready for a style upgrade, given they've looked almost the same since they first launched in 2016.
Apple has an upcoming event later this month, in which Rambo suggests they may share the new AirPods information.
The new software suggested that AirPods will have several listening modes, one of which is noise cancelation — A welcome addition, especially for those living in busy and bustling cities.

In addition to better sound, the AirPods would fit more snuggly in people's ears with this new design. Typically noise-canceling earphones have a softer section that fits well in the ears, all the while isolating and canceling out unwanted external sounds.
If this is all true, this is an exciting time for Apple and AirPods enthusiasts. We'll have to wait and see what Apple shares with us at the end of the month.
