
BMW decided to poke fun at rival MercedeBenz this Halloween but little did they know that their joke would backfire and burn! BMW sent a tweet at 10:55 AM ET that showed a Mercedes-Benz with a car cover that looks like a BMW M5.

A car super hero
The caption read: "Now ever car can dress up as its favorite super hero." BMW even tagged Mercedes-Benz.

However, the fun didn't end there. Ever the jokesters, Mercedes-Benz hit back with a witty come back that didn't even require an illustration.

The joke refers to the fact that BMW's designers have been penning very large versions of the brand's trademark kidney grille layout for new models, a habit that has been mocked by critics. We love this healthy rivalry and look forward to seeing more jokes such as this however we could not help but notice that the whole ordeal looked very familiar.
A familiar joke
That is because in 2013 Pepsi pulled an ad of a Pepsi can wearing a Coca Cola cape. The ad read " We wish you a scary Halloween!" A Coca Cola fan responded by using the same image only with the caption “Everybody wants to be a hero!”
