British Cave Diver Says Musk 'Pedo' Claims Are Being Dealt With

Vernon Unsworth is seeking legal action against the Tesla CEO over a feud that began during the Thai Cave rescue mission.

Elon Musk revisited his claims that the British diver involved in the rescue of the Wild Boars soccer team in Thailand earlier this year is a pedo.

Musk first called Vernon Unsworth a ‘pedo’ on Twitter after the professional diver had made disparaging remarks about Musk's attempts to be involved in the rescue by building a child-sized submarine.

On August 28, Musk tweeted in response to a question about honesty regarding his remarks on Unsworth saying he was never sued over his initial claims. Musk followed up the tweet by asking Twitter users if they themselves had investigated the allegations.

'It is being dealt with'

Regarding the recent events, Unsworth told Sky News that "It's all being dealt with, that's all I can say." Meanwhile, CNN reported the diver's lawyer L. Lin Wood said Wednesday that he was "finalizing the libel complaint" to be filed "in the next several days" in a Los Angeles federal court.

Tesla Shares Fall After Elon Musk's 'Pedo' Twitter Comment

The series of events began back on Twitter when Musk was asked by a fan if he would offer assistance to the rescue team struggling to get the 12 members fo the Wild Boars soccer team and their coach out safe from a cave whose entrance became blocked by rising water. Musk had indicated he was sure the Thai Government had it under control but offered to help speed up the process with the production of a ‘kid-sized’ submarine for the rescue team.

Musk flew to Thailand himself to deliver the submarine. However, Unsworth claimed the Tesla CEO was ‘very quickly’ asked to leave.

Unsworth also added that the submarine “had absolutely no chance of working” because the inventor “had no conception of what the cave passage was like”. Musk followed closely behind these comments with a series of tweets defending his submarine that included one post stating “Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it.”

Unsworth responded by saying he was shocked by the comments adding that he was “astonished and very angry." He then said that he had saved copies of the now-deleted tweets and was considering legal action against Musk.

Musk explained his actions

Musk had at the time responded with an apology and an explanation as to what had provoked his angry reaction. In a reply to a Twitter user, Musk had said: “My words were spoken in anger after Mr Unsworth said several untruths & suggested I engage in a sexual act with the mini-sub, which had been built as an act of kindness & according to specifications from the dive team leader.”

“Nonetheless, his actions against me do not justify my actions against him, and for that I apologize to Mr Unsworth and to the companies I represent as leader. The fault is mine and mine alone," he had concluded.
