Businesses are getting creative when it comes to keeping people apart during the COVID-19 era. One such business is Burger King.
The fast-food chain released what it calls 'social distance crowns'. The crowns look like the regular Burger King crowns, only much larger.
The crowns succeed in keeping people 6 feet apart. "We wanted to reinforce the rules of high safety and hygiene standards that the BK restaurants are following," a Burger King representative told Business Insider.
"The do-it-yourself social-distance crown was a fun and playful way to remind our guests to practice social distancing while they are enjoying food in the restaurants."
That's not the only COVID-19-inspired idea the company has had. In Italy, it is selling a whopper with three times the onions that a regular whopper has.
The idea behind that is that bad breath will keep people significantly apart.
Although we admire Burger King's efforts, they do sound a bit familiar. Earlier this week we reported about a cafe in Germany that was using pool noodle straw hats to keep people apart.
Cafe Rothe in Schwerin introduced the quirky hats as a gag but the idea made headlines around the world.
"This was the perfect method to keep customers apart -- and a fun one," owner Jaqueline Rothe explained to CNN, adding that the idea actually came from local TV company RTL which was filming the reopening of cafes and restaurants.
"It was a perfect gag and of course it was funny, our customers were really into it. But what it did show to us (was) how difficult it is to keep a distance of 1.5 meters (4.9 feet)."
We can't wait to see what other creative ways businesses will conceive of for keeping people apart.
