105-Year-Old Breaks Guinness Record for Oldest Person to Paraglide Tandem
Never stop being curious or learning: These are certainly some key takeaways the Guinness World Records encourage us to believe.
A case in point is Yu Te-Hsin, a 105-year-old man who broke the record for becoming the oldest person to paraglide tandem.
Yu took to the skies near Humtou Mountain in Puli, China, after he seeing people paragliding in the area. Mesmerized by the sight, he was keen to try it out for the first time in his life.

Jumping in to make her grandfather's dream of flying come true, Yu's granddaughter asked the nearby paragliding instructors whether they could take Yu up. Given his age and the fact that he was recovering from a recent surgery, the team first wanted to make sure Yu was fit to fly.

After a physiotherapist consultation, Yu was deemed fit as a fiddle, and off he went to the paraglider club.
Yu and his instructor jumped out of the plane at some 2,500 feet (780 meters) in the air, spiraling down towards the Earth before the parachute plumed out behind them, gently lowering both men down to the ground, per a New York Post report.
You can almost hear Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' song "Learning to Fly" blasting in the background of this glorious moment in Yu's life. It certainly would make for an adequate theme tune: "I'm learning to fly, around the clouds."
"After taking off, I looked to the ground, oh! I'm above the land. Looking ahead, the sky was clear and beautiful!" Yu said in a statement. "It is so beautiful and glorious to look down on God's creation in flight," he continued.

Yu has shown that age is not a limit, and that remaining adventurous and open-minded may even allow you to break a world record!
