1. Main Building, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia

The main building of Lomonosov Moscow State University is one of the most stunning university buildings in the world. Designed by Lev Vladimirovich Rudnev, the building was completed in 1953.

At the time, it was the 7th-tallest skyscraper in the world and the tallest outside of New York. It truly is an impressive structure, and the university campus it resides covers an area of around 1.6 km2. 

2. Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower, Tokyo Mode Gakuen, HAL Tokyo, Shuto Ikō/Japan

Designed by Tange Associates, The Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower of Tokyo Mode Gakuen/HAL Tokyo is another beautiful university building. Nicknamed "The Giant Cocoon", for obvious reasons, it is the 17th tallest building in Tokyo. 

To date, it is also the second-tallest university building in the world and was awarded the 2008 Skyscraper of the Year by Emporis.

Designed in the neo-Flemish Renaissance style, the original building was destroyed by fire during the Second World War.  It was rebuilt according to the original design of architect Whitney Warren.
