A Close Look at the PS5: Breaking Down the Console to See Every Inch of It
With PlayStation 5's (PS5) upcoming release date on November 12th, you can now get truly up close and personal with the console thanks to Sony's recent video.
On Wednesday, a video was shared on YouTube by PlayStation that takes you through a step by step break down of the PS5's hardware.
The video is in Japanese, however, you have prompters in English to know which part of the hardware is what, and you can easily follow along.
The PS5 looks sleek and simple, yet it's packed with bits of useful hardware.
As you watch the recently-posted YouTube video, you find out exactly what lies beneath that sleek outer shell: more sleek hardware.
Neatly displaying every single piece of hardware in front of him, the man in the video knows the ins and outs of the PS5 seemingly like the back of his hand.
You'll quickly notice you can easily switch the PS5 from a vertical standing position to a flat horizontal one with just two easy adjustments.
The console sports USB Type-C and Type-A ports on one side, two more USB Type-A ports, a LAN port, an HDMI output port, and an AN IN connector on the other.
The air vents are neatly tucked within the frame, barely apparent to the naked eye. Then, to remove the outer white shells on each side of the console, all you need to do is use a little push and pull system with your hands to remove them. No tools needed.
As you get inside the console, you get a good look at its motherboard. Everything appears simple and clean no matter where you look at this PS5.
It's quite the sight, seeing the entire hardware of the PS5 laid out on the table. But now you know what to fully expected of the upcoming PS5, inside and out.
PlayStation does issue a warning, though, as the company clearly states in the video "Do not try this at home. Risk of exposure to laser radiation, electric shock, or other injury. Disassembling your PS5 console will invalidate your manufacturer’s guarantee."
