A Man Turned This Secondhand Ambulance into His Dream Home
Ambulances help save lives; they're not actually for living one's life in.
One DIY enthusiast has gone against the grain though, creating an impressive wood panel interior for an old ambulance he now calls a mobile home.

First step: buy an old ambulance
Michael, 28, has been building mobile homes for years, Bored Panda reports. He built a home out of a bus when he was just 23 years of age. “I wanted to build my own house, but I couldn’t afford a property.”
A few months ago, Michael decided it was time to build a new house-on-wheels. He sold the van he was living in at the time, went on Craigslist and found an ambulance, which he described to Bored Panda as a "beautiful, boxy behemoth listed for sale."
The vehicle he bought was a 1992 Ford E-350 that once served as an ambulance in Tennessee. Before it came into his hands though, it was used by an AstroTurf company to transport fake turf from point A to point B.
As soon as he bought the old ambulance, Michael started planning how he would use the space.
The results are quite impressive, to say the least. A vehicle that was once used to help save lives is now a cozy home with a bookshelf, cupboards, a hidden unfoldable bed, a kitchen space, and a TV.
A detailed step-by-step account can be seen on Michael's Imgur post about the making of his new ambulance home.
A morbid mobile home?
Of course, the ambulance wasn't in perfect condition when he first bought it. Michael said he had to clean out bloodstains before he could get to work on the project.
Living inside a home where people may have died might put some people off, but Michael chose to see things in a different way.
“Yes, people probably died in there, but people’s lives were also saved, so I feel like it’s a wash,” he said.
Whether you would live in this home or not, there's no denying that it's an impressive DIY achievement.
