If you happen to be traveling through an airport in Russia and you feel the desire to purchase an AK-47, you may just be in luck. Kalashnikov Concern, the arms manufacturer famous for the AK-47, has opened their first store at the Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow, Russia, according to Sputnik News. At the store, customers can purchase all sorts of souvenirs printed with the Kalashnikov logo, and full-size replica AK-47s.
"Opening our store at one of the busiest airports in the country is a natural step on the way to become closer to our clients and to attract new consumers for our products." ~ Dmitriev
Vladimir Dmitriev, head of the Russian company's marketing department, expressed that they are very excited to have opened their first store in such a popular place. While you can't get any replica guns past security in your carry-on, once you get past the checkpoint you are welcome to purchase one in the store. It is important to note that the guns are simply replicas, but it makes for a strong point given the location.
