Apple to Begin Accepting Orders for Mac Pro This Week

The much-awaited Mac Pro will be available for order as of 10 December.

The guessing game is officially over, Apple announced the release date for its newest Mac Pro, the highly anticipated high-end computer that packs a lot of power a computer. 

Over the weekend a Twitter user posted an email from Apple in which it said the Mac Pro will be available to order starting 10 December.

Mac Pro display sets you back another $5,000

The Mac Pro will start at $5,999. The device was first announced in the summer with Apple saying at the time it would roll out in the middle of November or December. It's geared toward the professional market and comes without a monitor.

Apple is also releasing a 6K Pro Display XDR which is priced at around $5,000. All told a computer user could be on the hook for around $10,000 if not more, depending on the upgrades.  After all its entry-level Mac Pro that's set to sell for $5,999 only gets you 32GB of memory and a 256GB solid-state hard drive. The $4,999 price tag for the display doesn't include a stand, which will reportedly cost an additional $999.

Apple touts the power 

When Apple first announced the Mac Pro during its developer conference it touted its capabilities given it will run on a 28-core processor, is expandable to up to 1.5 Terabytes of system memory and uses the 6K display with as man as 22 million pixels per screen.

It runs on an Intel Xeon processor. During its unveiling Apple showed off the Mac Pro running a thousand digital instruments at once in Logic Pro without a hint slowdown--in fact, it was running at about 75% capacity, meaning it had room for even more instruments in its digital orchestra.
