A design studio from Victoria, British Columbia is changing the face of prosthetic limbs with various styles of covers.

ALLELES™ Design Studio Ltd. arose from the need to change people's perspective on prosthetic limbs. The minds behind the revolutionary project are McCauley Wanner and Ryan Palibroda. The studio brings fashion into the world of prosthetics.

Prosthetics Fashion

An uncanny fashion company, ALLELES’ aim is to connect fashion with the prosthetics industry. The idea first came up as a college thesis project, but as Wanner dug deeper into the prosthetics industry, she realized that ALLELES was something disabled people were in serious need of.

Disabled people feel excluded most of the time. One of the main reasons for that is the fact that regular prostheses are created only in skin colors to blend with real skin. However, most of the time it looks odd and attracts more attention, making people uncomfortable. However, ALLELES wants its customers to be able to express themselves through their vulnerabilities.

The covers come in a wide variety of shapes and colors. The users can choose the style they feel closest to and attach it easily onto their prostheses. Most of the customers comment on the idea as “groundbreaking” as now they feel more confident with themselves than ever before.

Customers can choose from two options, for now

The covers come in two options for now: leg covers and arm covers. There are ready to purchase styles, however, you can also put in a personal request for a custom cover.

Attaching the covers onto your prostheses is very easy using the polyurethane straps with metal hooks that are featured on all ALLELES covers.

These high-quality covers are created using FDA-grade ABS plastic which makes them durable, lightweight, flexible, and easy to clean and modify.
