Elon Musk and Grimes' Birth Certificate Released, Baby Name Finally Confirmed

Elon Musk and girlfriend musician Claire “Grimes” Boucher made headlines around the world when Musk first announced that their baby would be called “X Æ A-12 Musk.” 

Later, in a tweet, Boucher confirmed that the baby's name was indeed X Æ A-12 and specified what each letter stood for. X is for the unknown variable, Æ is the elven spelling of AI and A-12 is Musk's and Boucher's favorite aircraft. 

This led to the internet and media going wild with many believing Musk was just pranking the world as he often does. Some even speculated that the name may be illegal. Slate reported that California only allows names to have the 26 letters of the English alphabet and some additional characters like hyphens and apostrophes.

But now the birth certificate is here, courtesy of TMZ, and all speculations can be laid to rest as the baby has really been given the strange name. However, the name did feature one slight alteration.

Instead of X Æ A-12 it is X AE A-XII. The change must be to conform with California law.

At least one thing seems to be going well for the new parents. Since little X AE A-XII's birth, Musk has had to deal with some coronavirus cases in his Tesla factories after he defied the state’s shutdown order. Grimes on the other hand strangely told Bloomberg that she is selling her soul for $10 million.

If there's one thing that can be said for sure about these two, it's that they know how to keep the media and the public entertained. Here's wishing them luck with their new bundle of joy.
