Elon Musk Points out the Irony of Having People in Jail for Selling Weed When It Has Now Become a Legal Business

Elon Musk has a funny relationship with weed. After the CEO smoked cannabis live on the Joe Rogan show he had to suffer quite a backlash.

His Tesla stocks plummeted and NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine had some choice words for him.

“I will tell you that was not helpful, and that did not inspire confidence, and the leaders of these organizations need to take that as an example of what to do when you lead an organization that’s going to launch American astronauts,” Bridenstine said in The Atlantic’s report. “I will tell you, he is as committed to safety as anybody, and he understands that that was not appropriate behavior, and you won’t be seeing that again.”

Bridenstine then personally ordered a workplace culture and safety review of SpaceX. These were not good times for Musk.

Still, Musk is not one to shy away from controversy, especially if he believes in something. Recently he took to Twitter to point out the irony that selling weed is now legal while many still rot in jails for that offense. 

Selling weed literally went from major felony to essential business (open during pandemic) in much of America & yet many are still in prison. Doesn’t make sense, isn’t right.

"This will probably get me into trouble, but I feel I have to say it," tweeted the CEO, adding; "Selling weed literally went from major felony to essential business (open during the pandemic) in much of America & yet many are still in prison. Doesn’t make sense, isn’t right."

We have to say we admire Musk for speaking his mind. Still, we assume that as far as he does not go ahead and smoke weed publicly, he should be safe.
