Google Rolls Out Pixel 4 and Announces Launch Date for Stadia

Google is taking on Apple and Microsoft in the streaming gaming market, announcing at its Made by Google event, which was broadcast over the Internet, the launch date for Stadia, it's streaming game service. 

Stadia will launch on 19 November and will cost $10 a month. With the cloud-based platform, users can play games on their PC and smartphone whenever they want. The service will be available in the U.S., Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. For $129.99 users can purchase Stadia's Founder's Edition which includes a Chromecast Ulta, controller, and two three month Stadia Pro subscriptions.

"Whether you ordered Stadia Founder’s Edition or Premiere Edition, you’ll have three months of Stadia Pro, with access to Destiny 2: The Collection. Using the included Chromecast Ultra and Stadia Controller, you’ll be gaming in up to 4K HDR with 5.1 surround sound when playing on your TV," Google wrote in the blog post. 

Pixel 4 has built-in radar to control the phone with gestures

Outside of Stadia, Google, as expected, announced the Pixel 4 smartphone with built-in radar that enables users to control it via gestures. Leading up the launch there were a lot of rumors and speculation as to what will be included in the Pixel 4 and now its the company's turn to convince us why we need the latest smartphone from the Internet search giant. 

Some of the cool features highlighted at the Made by Google event include the ability to control the phone with hand gestures, the OLED screen, and high-end camera technology that includes super-resolution zoom, Live HDR+ that lets you capture images and videos in extreme lighting and preview it in real-time and dual camera controls. 

The Pixel 4 comes in three colors black, white and limited edition orange. It will be available in two sizes starting at $799 for the Pixel 4 and $899 for the Pixel 4 XL. Customers can place pre-orders as of today. The phones will ship on 24, October.  To get the phone in the hands of more people, Google also announced it expanded its carrier partnerships and is now available from every wireless carrier in the U.S. 

Pixel buds to be available next year

Not to be left out of the wireless buds category, Google also announced the new Google Pixel Buds, which the company says is made comfortable thanks to its efforts. It scanned thousands of ears to create what it thinks its a design that will be comfortable for most people. Users get five hours of listening time on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the wireless charging case.  The earbuds will be available in 2020 in the U.S. and will sell for $179. 

On the Nest front, Google announced the Nest Mini which it said provides bass that is twice as strong as the original Google Home Mini. The smart speaker is able to adjust the volume of Google Assistant, news and podcasts based on background noise. If the dishwasher is running and you ask Nest Mini what's the weather the Assistant will respond at a louder volume. The Nest Mini can be connected to other Nest speakers to create a sound system for the entire home.  The smart speaker is available for pre-order today and will be on store shelves at Best Buy, Target, Walmart and other retailers as of 22 October. It will sell for $49.
