As all bizarre stories do, this one started on a Facebook group -- Labcoat Agents, to be exact. The business-oriented group, aimed at real estate industry experts and specialists, posted a listing for a house found at 203 E Morrison, Fayette, Missouri.

While it may look like a normal 2,465-square-foot (229-square-meter) house on a 6,100-square-foot (566-square-meter), it is not quite what one would expect. Two bedrooms, one full and one-half bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, and just a few steps beyond the kitchen, a door leads to the basement where a pristine, ready-to-use jail awaits.

And it looks like the real deal indeed. From barred doors to metal bunk beds, a pristine jail awaits those who care to venture into it. The metal doors and windows are complete with locking mechanisms to give you that real jail experience.

The listing states that the house is a "unique opportunity" and calls the 2,500 square feet legitimate jail with 9 cells the "best part." According to them, "possibilities are amazing with this property."

The house has a story, of course. Built back in 1875, it was named the Howard Country Sheriff's House and Jail.

The sheriff would live there while also housing the criminals and the house functioning as the town jail.

It is a piece of history indeed; however, it has undergone renovations in 2005, and now has an electric fireplace and geothermal cooling among other things.

Going for a whopping $350,000, the house is waiting for its new owners. and from a jail-themed Airbnb hostel to a set for an adult movie, the possibilities are endless indeed.
