Nintendo to Offer "On the Go" Pop-Up Gaming Lounges at Select Airports

Nintendo, the company behind such gaming classics as Mario, Zelda, and the Metroid series, has just given a whole new meaning to the on-the-go feature of their hybrid Nintendo Switch console.
The Japanese gaming giant has just announced that it will be offering Nintendo Switch lounges for travelers to enjoy, starting today, while they wait for their flights.
As of now, there are only plans to provide the lounges, which will allow travelers to play the likes of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, in U.S. airports.
You won't actually want to catch your flight
Nintendo has long used airplanes as part of its marketing strategy for the Nintendo Switch. The reveal trailer for the hybrid console, which can be used with a TV or as a handheld device, highlighted the Switch's winning on-the-go adaptability by showing a traveler playing games on an airplane.
Now, it seems that the company is also using airports to attract more buyers into purchasing their insanely popular Switch system, while also providing convenient charging ports for those that already own one.
Who knows, maybe the guy that was recently caught hacking an airport monitor to play Apex Legends served as inspiration for Nintendo's marketing team.
Nintendo's high-flying titles
As Nintendo said in their press release, "some of the games that will be featured at the [airport lounge] demo areas include popular titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Party and Tetris 99, among others.
These are some of Nintendo's most successful titles in the history of the company, with Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey having sold over 16 million copies, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe being the Switch's bestselling game at the time of writing with 22.96 million copies sold.

The 'On the Go' lounges will also allow travelers to purchase Nintendo products, while those that stop by be gifted a Nintendo Switch branded luggage handle wrap and a $10 coupon from Target for Nintendo products.
At select U.S. airports
The airports that will include the Nintendo lounges can be seen below. The first to appear will be at Dallas Love Field airport, starting today.
Nintendo said they encourage passengers to swing by before their flight — just make sure to keep an eye on that boarding info!
The press release also reminds travelers to make sure to wave to Lakitu, a famous cloud-riding turtle-like creature from Mario, when their soaring in their planes above the clouds.
