Rocket Coffee Table is Meant to Bring Nostalgia to Everyone

One designer has taken inspiration from his childhood toys and created a beautiful and nostalgia-inducing glass coffee table. Stelios Mousarris, a Cyprus-based furniture designer, is the mastermind behind this coffee table, and he says his goal was to create a piece of furniture that made you feel like a child. These wooden rockets with puffy white streams coming from them create a pretty awesome focal point for any family room.

"I wanted to recreate that feeling of carefreeness and nostalgia with the Rocket Coffee Table. The design is visually playful bringing cartoon-like clouds and aerial rockets from a personal toy collection to life, in the form of a table. Combining various techniques from lathe to 3D printing, resin casting and traditional hand curved pieces, this table is fashioned to draw a smile on the face of nostalgic adults, children, and children trapped in adult bodies." ~ Mousarris

Of the legs, only the center one is actually attached to the table, so if you purchase this piece of furniture, you can arrange the rockets in whatever way you would like. Not just anyone can afford this table, as Mousarris is selling it on his website for US$5,500. A coffee table that costs more than 5 grand isn't for the casual furniture lover, so most of us will probably just have to admire it through our computer screens.
