Smiling Faces of Medical Staff in Wuhan After Treating Coronavirus Patients for Hours
Health professionals are always the ones who shoulder most of the weight during a crisis such as pandemics. Treating people in overcrowded hospitals with a shortage of medical supplies is not an easy feat. Doctors and nurses in Wuhan are looking eye-to-eye with the coronavirus and risking their lives daily.
The recent outbreak is testing China’s healthcare system and it is impossible for the medical staff to not feel the strain.
However, a photo of a female medical staff member from the Wuhan Tianmen Hospital went viral on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo recently. The photo was apparently taken the first moment she took out her protective clothing after a 12-hour-long shift.
After this picture, many photos of the doctors and nurses who took off their masks during short breaks were shared by numerous media outlets.

It is not every day that we get to see the faces of heroes so intimately.
Hunan Daily also posted the hardworking medical staff without their protective gear.
A tired face with protective gear traces and a tired smile seems to be shared by everyone.
While these photos show beautiful people with beautiful hearts smiling against the odds, the 12-hour-shift is a big problem. These people are working non-stop to manage full-capacity hospitals. They are surrounded by patients in pain and coughing all night long.
