The house, which certainly stands out amongst its neighboring motorboats, enjoys panoramic views across the marina in Auckland from its porch-like decks on both floors.

As the blog post explains, "while this is not a cheap build by any means, it’s still a comparatively affordable option for an exceptionally expensive city such as Auckland, and enables [the couple, Olivia and Ryan] to live a dream life, close to town and yet in a place which makes them feel as though they are on permanent vacation."

A mesmerizing interior space

As Olivia explains in the video below, the houseboat, which is 4.6 meters wide and 11.5 long (15x38 feet), is made out of a plywood and fiberglass base.

Ample storage space below the floating home's wrap-around deck allows for a larger living area in the interior space.

The bedrooms were purposefully placed on the bottom floor as the swaying of the boat is less pronounced nearer the water, allowing for a more restful sleep.

Moving on from the bedroom, a staircase leads up to an impressive living area with a balcony and impressive views of the sea from wherever the 'Blue Turtle' is traveling or berthed at any given time.
