Elon Musk is a man of many talents, with his fingers dipped in many pots. From electric vehicles to tunnel boring, to spacecraft, he's also surprised many by selling clothing, being musically 'talented,' and his latest endeavor: selling tequila.
Teslaquila, as Tesla's latest sale article is called, is a lightning bolt-shaped bottle of tequila branded with the EV-maker's name.
In typical Musk style, it all started with a joke back in 2018 and has now become a reality. You've got to give the man credit, he follows through with what he says.

From Twitter to reality
It may sound a little controversial that a carmaker starts selling strong liquor, but Tesla is still going ahead with its crazy plan.
Tesla tequila is now available to order solely in the U.S., and in only certain states, via its website, and it states that the liquor is "an exclusive, small-batch premium 100% de agave tequila añejo." And it's selling for $250 a pop.

Made by Nosotros Tequila, the maximum order is of two bottles, as per laws surrounding online alcohol sales. According to Engadget, Nosotros Tequila usually prices its bottles between $40 - $45. However, those bottles most likely aren't "Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and into a hand-blown glass bottle," as per Tesla's site's description.
"Tesla Tequila features a dry fruit and light vanilla nose with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish," it further reads. And it's best enjoyed as a sipping tequila, apparently.
The entire idea spawned in 2018 as part of an April Fool's joke that was saying Tesla would go bankrupt. Musk carried on the joke by posting an image of him next to a Tesla Model 3 saying he was found "passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by 'Teslaquila' bottles."
Tesla Goes Bankrupt

Palo Alto, California, April 1, 2018 -- Despite intense efforts to raise money, including a last-ditch mass sale of Easter Eggs, we are sad to report that Tesla has gone completely and totally bankrupt. So bankrupt, you can't believe it.
Followed up with:
Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by "Teslaquilla" bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.

This is not a forward-looking statement, because, obviously, what's the point?
