Career fairs can be a daunting experience. But they can also mean the difference between another summer of working for your lowly part-time job and the first steps of a career.

Career fairs can range from casual drinks events to wholly online experiences. We scoured the web for the best career fairs for engineers.

We’ve included events across the globe for engineers at all stages of their work lives. 

Career fairs for diverse audiences

Equal Engineers

Equal Engineers recognize that the engineering industry isn’t always inclusive. They aim to focus increase diversity and inclusion of underrepresented groups in engineering through career fairs and training.

Last winter equal engineers launched their Equal Engineers Apprenticeship Fairs. The fair toured Bristol, London, Birmingham, and Manchester in the UK.

More than 100 representatives from over 40 engineering and technology companies spoke with over 700 apprenticeship-seekers.

In addition to these physical fairs, Equal engineers host plenty of other career opportunities. Check their calendar for an event closest to you. 

Ohio State Women Engineering Career Fair 

The Ohio State University’s Society of Women Engineers Career Fair is an annual career fair hosted in partnership with Engineering Career Services.

The event raises money for engineering student organizations on campus as well as funds for scholarships and programs.

The next event is on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 1:00pm-6: 00 pm.

Fairs in Australia 

Sydney

The University of Sydney hosts an annual career fair for students who specialize in engineering, project management, and information technologies.

Their next annual Career Fair will be held on Monday, 4 March 2019.

Nationwide

The Big Meet is Australia's largest careers fair.  This free event pairs leading companies from all areas with graduates and undergraduates. 

The Big Meet takes place in all major Australian cities. Some 2019 dates have already been set. Check out the Bog Meet website to find your closest event.

Fairs in Singapore 

STJobs Career and Development Fair

STJobs Career and Development Fair is Singapore's largest job fair isn’t just for engineers but this massive event is a great place for people in a range of industries across all levels of your experience.

The Turkey Engineering Career Fair (TECF) is an annual event that aims to provide career development opportunities to all students who have trained as engineers in Turkey.

Fairs in the UK

London

The Imperial College London hosts a popular career fair each year that focuses on graduate and internship opportunities to Imperial students from all engineering disciplines. Physics and mathematics student are also invited to attend.

Scotland

The Scottish Graduate Fair is celebrating its 30th year in 2019.  It brings together the best of many industries including a range of engineering disciplines to meet and mingle with ambitious graduates and students. 

The huge fair hosts 3,500 students and graduates of all disciplines and around 100 graduate employers and postgraduate recruiters.

Northern Ireland

Ulster University in Northern Ireland hosts The Engineering Graduate Recruitment & Work Placement Fair.  The annual fair gives recruiting employers the opportunity to connect directly with students from the School of Engineering in a range of programs.

Columbia

The Engineering Consortium Career Fair organized Columbia University provides job-seeking candidates with the opportunity to meet recruiters, employers and hiring managers.
