The New iPad Pro Announced Today Will Push Speed and Screen Boundaries Like Never Before

After the dramatic unveiling of the MacBook Air and the MacBook mini, Apple upped the ante even more with the unveiling of its Ipad Pro, which when one considers all the new features, it becomes a harder task to choose between the tablet and the laptop (or at least Mac users will now start to give the iPad its long due respect).

Here are a few of the specs:

--> An LCD that extends to all edges of the screen, for both the 28cm and 32.8cm displays

--> 10r liquid retina display

--> Integrated Face ID for unlocking the iPad quickly and securely

--> An A12X Bionic chip inside the device with next-generation Neural Engine

--> A big plus for tablet users is the new USB-C connector

--> For added convenience, it comes with a Gigabit-class LTE AND up to 1TB in storage.

--> The dreaded home buttons are history.

Thinner Tablet, Greater Speed

Given that Apple is generally against all marketing and product notions that support the philosophy of Bigger is Better, they also, of course, emphasized the fact that they will maintain the minimalist design of the new tablet: it is now 15 cm thinner, which equates to an impressive 25% less volume. 

In the area of speed, the new iPad Pro shines, thanks to the 8 core cpu and 7 core GPU (which is a 90% faster CPU), and graphics which run 1000x  faster than earlier versions.  In the area of AI, users can expect a neural engine to be integrated for the first time, with the aims of offering machine learning capabilities for the apps.

This is an important feature, as the company is anticipating a slew of apps to be offered in the new tablet, one of which is the Photoshop CC on iPad app which is heading to the market sometime next year. This will all be made easier by the new split view which will allow users to enjoy various apps at the same time. 

Redefining the Tablet

The industry is taking notice of this launch, as it will usher in a new era for tablets. After all, even five years ago few of us would have imagined that a tablet could have features like a smart keyboard folio or augmented capabilities, which the iPad Pro offers.
