If you really don't fancy clearing the mountains of snow that have unceremoniously dumped themselves on your driveway, you could enlist the help of some professionals. But how much does this service cost?

As it turns out not that much given the amount of manual labor involved.

How do you get rid of snow?

If you fancy tackling that expanse of snow yourself, there are some tips you can follow to ensure you are not wasting your time (and energy).

You could invest in a snowblower, or just pay someone to do it. But a 'real man' digs his way to freedom.

According to sites like consumerreports.org, you should shovel snow every few inches of fall, or remove in layers.

But there is more to this video than meets the eye. He also provides viewers with a near-perfect landing after falling from his roof! 

Efficient, fast, and, most importantly, a completely classy performance!

Obviously, this was probably not planned, and we do hope he wasn't seriously injured. Apart from his pride, of course!

2. Here is a fun and fast way to clear snow from your car

This absolute genius has hit on a great method of quickly clearing snow from your car. With nothing more than a leaf blower and a deep hatred for snow, he liberates his vehicle in no time at all. 

To be fair, this is actually a brilliant idea and one that should also work on other snow-covered surfaces like pathways and sidewalks!

Why has no-one shown us this snow-decimation technique before?

It also looks incredibly fun. If you ever needed an excuse to get yourself a leaf-blower, it's this video!

3. This specialized gizmo is awesome!

The residents of this condo block appear to have snow removal as part of their contract. Instead of hiring a team of people to clear the snow manually, they have enlisted the use of this amazing specialized snow-clearing machine. 

Taking seconds to clear one car at a time, the job shouldn't take too long at all. But it does make you wonder why they haven't invested in building a carport? 

The contractors must be pretty cheap. It looks like an incredibly fun job, though. Sign us up!

4. You could always enlist the help of an RC loader

This fellow puts the fun back into the monotonous chore of clear snow from your driveway by using an RC model! Not only does the RC vehicle look like it was specially designed for the task, but this really does look like incredible fun. 

At the rate he's going, he should be done in no time.

And the best bit is, if he gets bored doing it, we are confident children would line up to do it for free! He might just have hit on a new business opportunity for himself.

5. How about a flamethrower?

Come on, admit it, you've thought about this yourself at some point! Given the extreme heat that these things give out, you'd think it would be the perfect tool for clearing tons of snow in no time!

Well, that's exactly what the guys from "The Kingdom of Random" decided to find out. By experimenting with several different flamethrower models, they were able to test the hypothesis.

As it turns out, using a flamethrower is not the most practical way to clear snow. But, let's be honest, it is totally badass!

6. If all else fails, bring in the artillery!

"When the going gets tough, the tough get... artillery!" as the famous saying goes! OK, we might have made that up, but have you ever wondered how effective artillery would be against snow?

As it turns out, it is so effective that it is regularly used to trigger avalanches under controlled conditions. In various avalanche-prone areas, like Canada, local authorities have turned to the power of the howitzer to literally blast their troubles away!

What a fantastic job!

Of course, we wouldn't recommend this for domestic accumulations of snow. The results might be a little more 'spectacular' than you had hoped!

7. How about some explosives?

Hot on the heels of the use of howitzers to clear snow, you might also have wondered if explosives would be an effective means of clearing snow? As it turns out, you don't need to test it for yourself, as these chaps regularly use explosives to blow troublesome snowbanks out of their way!

As you can see from the video, the blast radius is pretty limited, but it is a very effective method of clearing stubborn ice and snow build-ups!

Of course, we wouldn't recommend you do the same at home. Your humble pusher shovel should suffice!
