Holiday decorations have become a staple tradition for most households across the globe. But, like anything that starts out simple, some people can't help taking it to the extreme. In true Clark Griswold fashion, hundreds of people go above and beyond. This results in some of the most insanely cool moving lights displays ever. We've compiled a selection of some of our favorites over recent years.

In this first instance, this South Dakota home saw cars lining up for nearly two hours to see the lights, according to the YouTuber. After the family moved in 2012, the lights were moved to the Western Mall in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It raises $25,000 yearly for children's foundations. It is a true light show. This one is for our Frozen fans out there. These sparkling lights inspired by Disney's Frozen were featured on ABC's Great Christmas Light Fight as well as Good Morning America. The mastermind works as a music instructor, which served as the inspiration for the massive instruments seen in the video. He didn't just stop at Frozen, however. What did he do the following year? A Harry Potter-themed winter wonderland. There's definitely some witchcraft used to make those lights so spectacular.

For 2020, Tom BetGeorge decided to do something even more trendy. Taking The Weeknd's appropriately titled Blinding Lights, Tom did it again in 2020, creating a massive light show that is sure to turn a few heads this holiday season. Watch the hip-moving light show here.

And because we can't "let it go," here's another Elsa-field display below. However, this one stands out for its eco-friendly nature. According to the creator, it only costs $6 in electricity for the entire season. That's incredible. We definitely want to see more astounding Christmas lights like this.

If you're looking for something non-traditional but still just as dope, check out this dubstep light show. The creators have raised over $23,000 for local charities thanks to their lights. Watch the hypnotic, bass-heavy show here.

Sure, there are plenty of Star Wars light displays. However, this one from Lights on Pascolo in Minnesota didn't just use the Lucasfilm audio and sound effects. It artfully told the Christmas story in the most epic and adorable way possible. The Star Wars introduction breaks away into other tech remixes of holiday classics. If that still sounds too traditional for you, don't worry. The same house also put on an incredible tribute to the late international artist Prince.

Speaking of Prince tributes, you have to definitely see this one. It is one of the most rhythmic shows that we have seen in the past couple of years. Even more so, this incredible tribute features one of the best mixes of Prince music we've heard in a very long time. It's a great way to remember the artist.

This last video goes above and beyond to capture these lights — literally. This drone footage gets some insane shots of these lights done by the Preston family in Arizona. The show is short, sweet, and absolutely incredible. Another awesome light show.
