This 1961 VW Beetle Deluxe Was Converted Into a Matte Black Masterpiece

The Volkswagen Beetle on its own already is an impressive car and even though it was largely considered underpowered on the inside, its stylish and iconic exteriors more than made up for that fact. That's why when someone goes ahead and even improves on these exteriors the car becomes quite a sight to behold. Designer Danni Koldal took a 1961 Volkswagen Beetle Deluxe and converted into an ultra-stylish convertible that is a bit reminiscent of a Batmobile.

However, Batmobile was probably not the look Koldal was going for as he had the word "SupermaN" inscribed on the back of his sleek matte new car as well as a Superman logo added under the front windshield. In order to get the final product that has been admired from around the world,(it even landed on a T-shirt in Thailand) Koldal had to make many adjustments.

Let's start with the new paint job! How do you even get a car to look so mate and cool? Next, Koldal also removed the original chrome bumpers, the fender-mounted turn signals, and the side mirrors. The side mirrors were then replaced by the kind of horizontally-extended mirrors you would expect to see on a flashy racecar.

The roof and the windshield were also removed and the car was lowered giving it a smooth look. Furthermore, every installed replacement part was designed to fit an old school race-car type aesthetic such as the car's sleek rims and whitewall tires. 

There is no mention of any changes to the engine so it is safe to assume that despite its race car look the car can't exceed the 60–70mph (96–112 km/h) top speeds achieved by the original Volkswagen Beetle Deluxe. It can, however, inspire other cars passing by to slow down and get a really long gaze at it. According to Koldal's Instagram, it seems his baby has also been on many exhibitions which means we are not wrong when we say this revamped Beetle has its fair share of admirers.
