A French company, Multipod Studio, has developed a prototype for PopUp house, a special type of house that can be built in a way very similar to the way Lego houses are being built. The idea is very simple; they wanted to find a way to build a house that is well-designed, low-cost and energy-efficient. And the answer was the PopUp house.

The PopUp house is very interesting in the sense that it is completely customizable. Not only that, you can actually order a house online, who would have thought of that? Depending on the quality of the materials involved, the house can cost between $1,200 and $1,900 per square meter. In addition to that, the company sends a team of experts and building instructions which costs an extra $1,640.

"A PopUp House can be whatever you wish it to be: a small and cozy country lodge, an urban two-story house, or a spacious open office," co-founder Corentin Thiercelin told Tech Insider.

The components of the house are all made of recyclable wooden panels. These wooden panels can be stacked together while building the house in the same way Legos are built. The wooden panels are held together with wood screws. This basically means that all you need to build this house is a screwdriver to hold the wooden panels together!

Not only is it very quick to set up (just four days) it is also very quick to take down. This basically means that if you are looking for something new, it will just take roughly a week to restructure your whole house. How cool is that?
