Cybertruck is the next new thing that is everyone is waiting for, and Elon Musk doesn’t refrain from dropping hints on Twitter about it from time to time. Recently, Tesla CEO tweeted that a version of the Cybertruck which he referred to as “Plaid” will be his preferred pickup.

In Tesla language, "Plaid" means the highest performing model or performance mode, with the term being a reference to the parody film Spaceballs.

Plaid vs. Triple Motor Drivetrain

Numerous people from all around were excited about the possibility of a new version of Cybertruck; however, many were also confused since they thought “Plaid” was just the name for the triple motor drivetrain.

However, Musk interfered and said there’s “a bit more to it than that”, but didn’t elaborate. Now, people are speculating whether he was referring to something with a battery or a different look.

It's true that Model S with Plaid Powertrain has triple motors, but in Cybertuck's case, there might be more to it than that such as software, cooling systems, or maybe battery differences. This tweet from November 6, 2019, might be the clue everyone is looking for.

Nevertheless, this is all speculation and we still don't know what form or shape a Plaid Cybertruck will take.

The first Cybetrucks are scheduled to come out in late 2021 with the tri-motor powertrain, with the dual-motor and single-motor following the cue in late 2022.

Elon Musk wear plaid

We might not know what this Plaid model will look like; however, that doesn't stop the Tesla fans from getting their creative juices - and sometimes the lack of it on.

Are you one of the few who thought about the "plaid" fabric? Well, you're not alone.

If you're a plaid-fan, now you can match your favorite shirts to your Cybertruck. We are glad this won't become a reality.

What are those ducks doing there?

Triple motor means faster, and plaid means plaid...

This is rather ironic since Elon Muskdoes wear plaid all the time.

And some have outrageous requests...

We can only hope that Elon Musk doesn't see these and suddenly decide that it is a great idea to match his shirts to his cars.
