If you are an engineer looking for a job then you are in luck. Elon Musk took to Twitter to announce he was hiring engineers for Neuralink on Saturday.
If you’ve solved hard problems with phones / wearables (sealing, signal processing, inductive charging, power mgmt, etc), please consider working at email@example.com— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 18, 2020
"If you’ve solved hard problems with phones/wearables (sealing, signal processing, inductive charging, power mgmt, etc), please consider working at firstname.lastname@example.org," tweeted the co-founder of the company.
For the uninitiated, Neuralink is a neurotechnology company that is developing implantable brain-machine interfaces. A quick look at its jobs page will indeed show that it is hiring for 10 engineering positions and a general one.
Neuralink was founded in 2016 and is said to have hired several high-profile neuroscientists from various universities since then. By July 2019, the firm had a staff of 90 employees and $158 million in funding.
Musk has explained that he plans to achieve human enhancement, known as transhumanism, with the eventual goal of achieving symbiosis with artificial intelligence. This concept is in direct opposition with comments he has made about artificial intelligence proving an existential threat to humanity if left unchecked.
Neurolink's website now states that the firm has "scaled neural recording and stimulation to thousands of channels, providing a clearer picture of activity in the brain."
In addition to being an exciting new field of development, engineers may want to work for Musk as he has been voted one of the best CEOs by his employees in 2018. In 2018, workplace culture website, Comparably, compiled a list of Best CEO Awards, and Musk came out at number 19 on the list.
Although Musk does not act as the CEO of Neuralink, the company culture he instills in his other firms is bound to exist at Neuralink as well. Best of luck to everyone applying!
