7 interesting mouse designs

So without further ado, here are 7 interesting mouse designs from the ages. Obviously the following are in no particular order and are far from exhaustive.

Most Popular

1. G-Point is a little "racey"

Designed by Andy Kurovets, the G-point mouse looks like something from another world. It's sleek design and fire red color certainly makes it stand out from the rest.

However, when viewed from above you might decide to change your mind. We'll let your imagination fill in the rest.

Perhaps you might want to avoid considering purchasing this particular peripheral. Especially as a gift for someone else or for your personal use in the office.

2. The Fortune Mouse is very interesting indeed

The Fortune Mouse is probably one of the most unique mouse designs you have ever seen. Minimalistic in form, it is actually something more of a work of art than a practical piece of hardware.

It was designed by Brazilian designer Atila Rossito and you might be a little trepidatious to actually use it in for its intended purpose. The designer removed all innards so the mouse could provide clutter-free navigation while retaining stunning looks.

This was only a concept so it's unlikely it would actually be particularly useful in real life. Yet it is a very interesting mouse design nonetheless.

3. Logitech Touch Mouse M600 is very nice indeed

From one of the most trusted mouse designers and manufacturers in the world, Logitech's M600 is a very interesting looking mouse indeed. It looks great and might be the future of computer mice as we know it.

"Swiping, scrolling, and surfing that's like second nature. The touch surface responds directly to the world's most natural technology—your fingers. So whatever you're doing on your laptop is as easy as letting your fingers do the clicking, scrolling and swiping." - Logitech.

If you haven't already guessed, this mouse lacks any moving parts or buttons. You simply use your fingers to tap or scroll as you would on a normal mouse.

4. The Razer Mamba Wireless Gaming Mouse looks like its built for war

This mouse design wouldn't look too out of place on the timeless robot combat TV show Robot Wars. A bold aggressive design, this mouse is specially designed for hard-core gamers.

The mouse has an extended battery life of around 50 hours which means more gaming for your money at any one time. It also features something called Adaptive Frequency Technology which, Razer assures, provides wireless connectivity as reliable as wired.

It also comes with 5G Advanced Optical Sensors for better resolution accuracy, precision, and responsiveness. This mouse looks and feels the business.

5. The Swarovski Mouse is one for those who love bling

The Swarovski Mouse, designed by Simon, Dareen, and Jeremy Doherty is another interesting mouse design. Rather than being made out of cut glass (thankfully), this mouse is designed to resemble the famous Swarovski logo.

The swan's body is the body of the mouse with the two main mouse buttons lying either side of the included crystal at the head.

This interesting take on a practical item was designed for the Crystal Vision design competition that was organized by Dsignboom and Swarovski. It appears the judges took to it and awarded it first place.

6. Cyborg R.A.T. Gaming Mouse is brilliant

Not the most comfortable looking device, the Cyborg R.A.T. gaming mouse is very interesting looking indeed. Its futuristic shape resembles something that Batman himself would probably use if he used a mouse.

Sadly the manufacturer of this great looking peripheral went out of business a few years back. But it looks to be making a comeback according to PC World

Let's hope it sticks around as it is one of the coolest looking computer mice we've ever seen. Of course, others will probably find it quite the ugliest thing they've ever laid their eyes on

You can't please all the people all the time.

7. The "Microsoft" eVouse is very different indeed

The eVouse made some waves back in 2010 with its interesting v-shaped design. This awesome and futuristic mouse also had a pleasing metallic look with a futuristic green light that illuminates every movement.

Designed by Marcial Ahsayane, this mouse was not actually an official Microsoft concept despite the logo on its side.
