It is no secret that Amazon is trying to get a hold of the retail grocery industry with Amazon Go and the acquisition of Whole Foods. Now, the tech giant is promoting its Amazon Dash Cart to the world.

Coming this year, the cart will be made available in Amazon's grocery store in Woodland Hills, California, there's not yet an official statement for a wider roll-out. The cart will have a volume of roughly two full grocery bags, it will come equipped with a touchscreen that shows you the sum total of what you buy. Amazon says it will detect your actions should you choose to remove something from the cart with its computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion and deduce the cost from your total.

The cart will be activated by a QR code in Amazon mobile app, customers will also be able to access shopping lists they created through Alexa. Once the shopping is done you will be able to check-out from cashierless lanes and the transaction will be made through your Amazon account, much like the Amazon Go transactions. The stores once tried to go cash-free, but with the legal action put in place, it can be presumed that cash payment will be available.

With this development, Amazon is aiming to make shopping as convenient as possible, in and out without any hassle. These carts will also help customers to skip queues and make payments with less delay. Time will tell how this addition to the retail face of the company will hold up.

Amazon also aims to bring other retailers to its level by selling them technology. Self-dubbed, Just Walk Out. Their website welcomes potential customers and curious souls with these lines: "Just Walk Out technology enables shoppers to simply enter a store, grab what they want, and just go. Born from years of experience at Amazon Go, Just Walk Out uses a combination of technologies to eliminate checkout lines. We now offer retailers the ability to leverage this technology in their stores to help bring fast and convenient checkout experiences to more shoppers."
