Elon Musk Will Reveal New Information about Neuralink Through Live Event
Last year, Elon Musk's brain-machine interface company, Neuralink, demonstrated what the team was working on.
It's been a year since their last public update, and this year on August 28th Musk will share with the world what progress Neuralink has had by showcasing a real-life neuron activity demonstration.
Still unknown agenda
Not much information has been shared about what exactly Neuralink has been working on this past year, nor what Musk will demonstrate on Friday, 28th August. However, one speculation that's circulating is that he'll demonstrate how neurons operate in real-time.
Thanks to a post shared in July on Twitter by Musk, this will be part of the update.
Understanding how neurons actively function is important to Neuralink's work and technology. The company's hardware will consist of a small chip inserted into the brain where electrodes are connected throughout the brain in order to read neuron signals.

This huge amount of neuron data will help Neuralink's software understand how the brain communicates with the entire body in order to redirect functions to send signals through AI. Once this is achieved the possibilities may be endless. It would mostly serve in the medical world, especially for those with neural diseases or issues.
Inserting Neuralink's chip into the brain, once the technology is fully functioning and safe to use, could prove useful for people with mobility problems, or those suffering issues with their eyesight and hearing, as well as assist those with Parkinson's disease.
Moreover, it could also prove useful for a number of brain diseases such as Alzheimer's, epilepsy, and strokes.
It looks as if Neuralink is keeping growing, as they posted about searching for engineers in July this year.
So, Friday's event may shed quite a bit of light on how the company has been spending its time over the last year. There's no exact information as to how to watch it, but if we're going with how last year's event unfolded, make sure to keep a close eye on Neuralink's YouTube channel.
