Nintendo just dropped the first look of its newest gaming system - Switch - and we couldn't be more excited.

The mobility of handheld gaming has been beefed up. The Switch lets you take the system wherever you  want and play with whomever you choose. At home, the Switch rests on the console connected to the TV. But taking the Switch off the dock 'switched' the system into a portable mode.

In the three minute trailer Nintendo released today, we see five unique configurations for the gaming system. The Switch clearly looks to fill any and all gaming needs, from single-player couch to mobile multi-player sessions.

It comes with two Joy-Con controllers, an analog stick with four face buttons on each. They can be combined into the stands to create what Nintendo calls the Switch Pro Controller. It looks and functions similarly to the old Will U Pro Controller.

The system, which drops in March 2017 comes with a high-definition display. It uses DS-style game cards rather than the clunky cartridges of old handheld consoles. The games featured on the video are just a handful of the games that will be released for the console. The Legend of Zelda, Mario Cart, a brand-new and unknown Super Mario game, a new NBA game and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim were all packed in to the three minute video.

The company listed 48 software partners ranging from giants like EA, Capcom and Ubisoft to game engine companies like Havok.

The company has yet to release a price for the console, nor what each Switch set includes. However, we firmly anticipate that they'll be flying off the shelves when they're finally released.
