Last week, an ad from fitness bike Peloton caused quite a stir. The ad, which shows a husband gifting his wife the bike, sparked a debate online with people wondering whether it was sexist or not.

One Twitter user decided to weigh in on the debate writing a tweet that said, "Got my wife a Peleton [sic] three years ago. She was not offended." He got an expected reply to his message.

A sad but funny story

NFL Network reporter Jane Slater decided to respond by sharing a sad but rather funny story of how she caught an ex boyfriend cheating due to a Fitbit.

Slater, 38, tweeted: “An Ex Boyfriend once got me a Fitbit for Christmas. I loved it,” she wrote. "We synched up, motivated each other... didn’t hate it until he was unaccounted for at 4am and his physical activity levels were spiking on the app."

"Wish the story wasn’t real," added the clearly disappointed reporter. To further clarify that the spike was due to naughty activities Slater shared another tweet that said: "Spoiler alert: he was not enrolled in an OrangeTheory class at 4am."

All is well that ends well

The news quickly made the rounds being picked up by all kinds of media sources. Slater continued to share more of the story even describing how her friends supported her through this hard time.

"My girlfriend once said 'one day we will laugh about this' as I sobbed uncontrollably in the car. I have now many times bahahahah," tweeted the journalist. We guess all is well that ends well. It seems Slater did eventually move forward from this betrayal and now has a great story she shared with the world.
