Redmi Note 7 Sent to Edge of Space, Comes Back with Pics
The UK division of mobile phone maker Xiaomi, Redmi UK, launched their company's newest phone, the Redmi Note 7, to the edge of space on a weather balloon and brought back pictures to prove it.
Redmi Note 7 Takes Pictures From 35km Above the Earth
Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is getting ready to launch their newest device, the midrange Redmi Note 7, and to show off the phone's durability, the company's UK division, Redmi UK, launched the phone to more than 35 km above the Earth where the temperature was a balmy -60 degrees Celsius.

Several Redmi Note 7s snapped pictures and video from the edge of space before parachuting back down to earth with their photography. As some have pointed out, there is some uncertainty as to which of the phones on the 3D-printed rig took which photo, but it is nonetheless an impressive promo for the budget-level android smartphone.

Xiaomi goes on sale this week in the UK starting at 179 pounds, or about $230.
