Toyota Showcases their Autonomous Modular E-Commerce Vehicle, the E-Palette
The retail experience could be going mobile. The world of autonomous vehicles is an industry trend that will shape the way you to get from point A to B. Autonomous vehicles are no longer a novelty. If anything, car companies completely redesign cars around their autonomous features. You will not worry about driving in the future; this will become a secondary feature. This coming change was never more apparent than it was in Toyota's exhibition at CES 2018. The Japanese automaker unveiled an ambitious vision for the world of autonomous vehicles. Enter the e-Palette.
The Modular Shopping Experience
The e-Palette will fuel the future of on-demand cities. With the ability to be configured for any retail needs in 24 hours, the E-palette is an on-demand retail experience and multi-purpose moving space for the future city.
Do you need a new dress? How about a nice pair of tennis shoes? Or maybe you would love some pasta? The vehicle will be ready to fit the retail needs of any group of people.
Taking it a step further, the e-Palette will be an on-demand space. The possibilities are endless creating retail experiences, personal shops, mini markets, and maybe even the coolest remote working space. Additionally, businesses and communities can bring together multiple e-Palettes to create super retail experiences.
The electric vehicles can be used together to form malls, medical clinics, entertainment and, and festivals. Amazon, DiDi, Mazda, Pizza Hut and Uber will partner with the project. The new technologies will be unveiled at the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics, but wait there's more.
The Toyota Concept-I And Blockchain
Toyota also discussed its Concept-i prototype. This Bladerunner-looking vehicle is a smart EV designed to create the perfect automotive experience.
The car will learn both from drivers and the environment to create an optimized driving experience.
According to the Toyota team, "Concept-i was built from the inside out, with a focus on making it immersive, energetic and, most importantly—approachable. Thanks to artificial intelligence, we foresee an automotive future wherein our cars can connect with us."
Looking to the future, the Toyota team is looking to use blockchain technology to create an open platform where drivers can control their driving data.
The Blockchain technology would allow for the creation of distributed ledgers, enabling the pooling of data of drivers to create a safe and efficient driving future. That same blockchain system could be used to power concepts like these.
The future of vehicles will be dramatically different.
