Meet the World's Thinnest Foldable Keyboard for Mobile Devices

Jessica Miley

There are foldable keyboards and the there is THE foldable keyboard. Wekey has raised the bar in foldable keyboards forever with its totally refined design and functionality.

Foldable keyboards can seem a little gimmicky, but for dedicated tablet users who value portability and lightness, they are an essential part of their gadget kit.

Wekey seems to have really redesigned the ordinary keyboard to overcome lots of annoying design flaws. For example, Wekey uses a wearable printed circuit board (PCB) and constant pressure type film technology to create a keyboard with the solid feel of a laptop with 100% transportability.

Extremely portable

The keyboard is just 2.5mm and weighs only 160g, only the weight of three eggs! The keyboard is about the size of a standard iPad and can be purchased with a tablet pouch that also acts as a stand. The keyboard itself comes in a range of colors to match with your other devices.

Built-in tracking pad

Another standout feature of the foldable keyboard is the inbuilt tracking pad which eliminates the need for a mouse. The tracking pad also makes the keyboard a really useful tool in presentations. Simply pair your tablet to the projector and use your Wekey keyboard to scroll through slides. By connecting Wekey to an Android tablet you can have remote control of the touchpad and wheel, up to 10 meters away.

Multi-device pairing

The keyboard can pair across devices using Bluetooth. If you have to move away from your desk the multi-pairing support function will put you at ease. The function allows up to 3 devices to be paired with Wekey's keyboard. Wekey can remember which device and OS it's connected to and match the OS's keyboard layout. So there is no fiddling around with settings between devices.

The design and strength of the Li-Po batteries are triple of that of its competitors. WeKey can be fully charged in an hour and a half and these clever batteries last for an average of 3 months. Meaning you’ll only need to charge the keyboard 4 times a year!

Strong, spill proof design

While the Wekey keyboard is packed with great features, it isn’t weak or fragile. The thin and light design may have you fooled but Wekey is one tough tech gadget. Check out WeKey being run over by a car!

Our favorite design feature though is Wekey's spill resistance! No risk of damage if you spill your latte across your desk! And finally, for when the day is over and you are ready to relax, the WeKey keyboard becomes your personal photoshoot assistant. The keyboard has a built-in shortcut to activate your camera and it can remotely take photos, acting like a keyboard selfie stick so you can capture that perfect pose.

The awesome keyboard started out as an Indiegogo project raising $27,370 USD in 2015.  The keyboard is now available to buy for about $100 USD in common online stores.
