Modern temperature recordings began 136 years ago, and as of now, July 2016 is the hottest month ever on record- since the records began.
The study conducted by scientists at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York recorded the findings earlier this month. Not only was July the hottest month in recorded history, it also sets the year at a record breaking high as well. July 2016 was an average of 0.1 degrees Celsius warmer than previous record-breaking Julys in 2015, 2011, and 2009.
“It wasn’t by the widest of margins, but July 2016 was the warmest month since modern record keeping began in 1880,”
“It appears almost a certainty that 2016 also will be the warmest year on record.”
July marks the 10th consecutive month since October 2015 that set record-breaking temperatures for the month. The temperature effects have been specifically pronounced in the northern hemisphere, intensifying towards to Arctic region.

The data was analyzed and acquired with the help of nearly 6,300 meteorological stations around the world.
The dramatic increases are already taking a heavy toll on many ecosystems and species. With decreasing amounts of ice each year, polar bear populations have dropped significantly. The warmer temperatures also promote the growth of massive algae blooms that suffocate all aquatic life and render beaches too dangerous to swim.
While there is the argument that the global heat naturally rises and falls, it cannot be argued that the Earth is not dramatically changing due to the climate. Not only that but for the last couple hundred years, the temperatures (according to the same trends argued) should be cooling down. It is also impossible to argue the fact scientists have been able to analyze CO₂ levels dating back 400,000 years. Now, the levels exceed 400 PPM, abolishing every record ever set before. The recent changes in climate change have been induced by humans, specifically, the large influx of carbon emissions that readily absorbs copious amounts of heat radiation.
The evidence is mounting, any argument disregarding climate change and the severity is outright ignorant. The results are in, and it is time to change. Fortunately, the technology is already available to help save the world from a slew of contaminants. The only problem is money and the will to change. While the 'economy' may be impacted with copious amounts of money being required to initiate and sustain the cleanse, without the environment, money will be of no matter. No matter what, however, the world will live on. Whether or not it will be with humans lies in the decision of every person from herein.
