At this point, it seems that nothing seems to surprise us when it comes to future vehicles.
However, this week Groupe Renault unveiled a truly innovative and inspiring concept car at the Paris Motor Show that made heads turn and journalists worldwide take notice.
The 100% electric self-driving concept car called EZ-ULTIMO has been touted by the firm as a "robovehicle for a premium mobility service experience."
And the car does not disappoint! In addition to being autonomous and electric, EZ-ULTIMO is a luxurious aerodynamic connected shared mobility service solution that is truly equipped to offer a true premium travel experience.
Indeed, this concept is the luxury version of Uber catering to people who need that something extra for their daily commutes or longer journeys.
"As consumer trends change and people are enjoying ridehailing services more and more, a new paradigm for mobility will emerge. Embodying this revolution, Renault EZ-ULTIMO offers a unique luxurious experience aboard a robovehicle that can be adapted depending on the service provider,” said in a statement Laurens van den Acker, SVP Corporate Design for Groupe Renault.
The futuristic car features ultra lush interiors, made from wood, marble and leather, that can be accessed by a wide automatic opening. Once inside, the stylish comfortable area also includes a swiveling almost sofa-like seat that slides for easy passenger access.
Renault's Augmented Editorial Experience
Slightly transparent facets on the upper part of the vehicle's bodywork give the EZ-ULTIMO's passengers privacy while Renault's Augmented Editorial Experience (AEX) offers a realistic immersive experience.
AEX is customizable to passengers' requests providing personalized premium content of a variety of entertainment and even educational multimedia experiences.
Equipped with level 4 autonomous driving technology, EZ-ULTIMO is safe efficient and easily and quickly adapts to all environments.

The robo-vehicle is ideal as "mobile lounge" complement hotel or resort services, ensuring every part of a customer's journey is catered to their needs.
“Inspired by contemporary architecture, and completely integrated in future smart cities, EZ-ULTIMO will provide an exclusive experience for all. With autonomous, electric and connected cars, we are entering a new exciting era in automotive design," added Acker.
EZ-ULTIMO follows Renault's EZGO (conceived for shared mobility) and EZPRO (conceived for last mile delivery) models. EZ-ULTIMO is the third concept from Renault's new modular platform that the firm says aims to offer superior sustainable mobility that is accessible to all.
