It's no secret that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has ambitious plans for space. In fact, the billionaire entrepreneur plans to send humans to Mars and even have them live there. Now, he may have added a new impressive goal to his list: send an adventurer without arms or legs to space.

The idea all started on Twitter when French adventurer Philippe Croizon reached out to the CEO with a Tweet saying: "... Send me into space to show once again that anything is possible!"

Croizon also included pictures of him skydiving, scuba diving, race car driving, and swimming. Quite an adventurer indeed! Musk seemed excited by Croizon's suggestion replying: "One day we will fly you on Starship." Does that mean Musk plans to send Croizon to Mars or would a quick trip to the International Space Station suffice?

A true hero

Whatever Musk's plans for Croizon may be, one thing is for sure, the French adventurer will be fit to tackle them. A quick Google search on the athlete reveals an impressive resumé. Croizon is the first quadruple amputee to swim across the English Channel and to run the Rally Dakar.

Croizon had to have his limbs amputated after a severe accident in March of 1994 where he was electrically shocked. Doctors had to remove both his arms and his legs and at first, he was left in despair.

However, after watching a television interview with a channel swimmer, he became inspired to follow in her footsteps. With the help of some prosthetics and some very arduous training, Croizon finally achieved his goal.

He has also written a book and invented a parachute jump. It seems nothing can stop this intrepid adventurer. Will space be his next frontier?
