SpaceX making history last week as it successfully undertook the world's first commercial crewed mission to the International Space Station (ISS) is no reason for the company's employees to rest of their laurels.

CEO and founder Elon Musk has urged SpaceX to treat the Starship rocket as a "top SpaceX priority," as per an email seen by CNBC

Starship a priority

Musk stated that work on the super-heavy Starship rocket should be "dramatically and immediately" sped up.

The only other focus for SpaceX's workers right now should be linked to whatever can "reduce Dragon's return risk," speaking of the Crew Dragon spacecraft that launched the two NASA astronauts to the ISS last week.

Aside from that, as per Musk's email, SpaceX employees should focus their attention on improving the Starship.

Starship is ultimately meant to become the company's go-to rocket. It will have the power to carry out space tourism and long-distance trips, as well as becoming a truly fully-functioning reusable rocket with rapid turnaround times that will make spaceflight easier and more accessible.

In essence, the rocket represents the company's future. At the moment, its the Falcon 9 that's SpaceX's workhorse rocket, which has been carrying out its cargo, satellites, and recent manned missions to Space. However, if the email CNBC read is anything to go by, it's looking very likely that Musk is hoping to get the Starship up to par.
