Watch it for yourself below.

According to the U.S. Marines, HIMARS can fire at a 186-miles (300-kilometer) target with 1-meter accuracy and is referred to as a "strategic fires" asset for Marine artillery.

RIMPAC runs from June 29 to August 4 each year on the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California with 26 nations, 38 ships, 3 submarines, 170 planes, and 25,000 soldiers. RIMPAC, the world's largest maritime exercise, provides a unique training opportunity while establishing and sustaining cooperative ties among participants.

What is HIMARS?

The M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a combat-proven, all-weather, 24/7, lethal, and responsive wheeled precision attack system.

HIMARS is a C-130 air transportable wheeled launcher fitted on a 5-ton Medium Tactical Vehicles XM1140A1 truck chassis. HIMARS also has an armored crew cab designed to support a lethal, mobile, expeditionary force.

Most Popular

Each system launches MLRS Family of Munitions rockets and missiles, and can carry six Guided MLRS (GMLRS)/MLRS rockets or one ATACMS missile.

HIMARS supports early and forced entry expeditionary operations with destructive, suppressive, and counter-battery fires. When firing GMLRS-Unitary precision rockets, HIMARS can achieve ranges of 70+ kilometers, attacking the target with low collateral damage, enabling danger-close fires (within 200 meters) in support of friendly troops in contact, and engaging high-value point targets in open, urban, and complex environments. HIMARS and MLRS launchers are getting a common fire control system.

HIMARS, according to various sources, offers 24-hour, all-weather, close- and long-range precision rocket and missile fire support for joint forces, early-entry expeditionary forces, contingency forces, and field artillery brigades supporting BCTs. C-130 can quickly deploy HIMARS, boosting combat effectiveness.
