Got a cool $31,000 lying around? Have you always dreamed of owning an engine belonging to an Italian supercar? Here's your chance!
A 6.2-liter V12 engine from an Italian supercar has recently been listed on eBay for $31,000 and is sure to go very quick — in more ways than one.
A flagship engine
The eBay listing describes the engine which was pulled from a totaled Murcielago roadster. While the car has seen much better days, the engine does thankfully seem to be intact, though. The listing, however, describes it as "a used auto part that may have minor wear or imperfections."
As Motor1.com reports, Lamborghini's V12 engine has enjoyed an incredible 40 years of service as the company's flagship engine. It was first seen in the Muira supercar.
The 6.2-liter engine listed on eBay produces 572 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. This impressive power allowed the Murcielago roadster to go from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds.
As the listing says, the engine has "only travelled 7,052km" and is in "excellent, [good] as new condition."
The seller provided a picture of the odometer along with pictures of the car, and the engine as proof of the distance traveled.
In a press release for the unveiling, Lamborghini described the car's capacity. It utilizes the V12's immense power to reach speeds of over 350 km/h:
"The Sián adopts the V12 as the pinnacle of today’s Lamborghini engines and develops a new super sports car powertrain: a unique new hybrid system focuses on providing the highest power possible via the lightest solution."
Granted, $31,000 is no small investment, but we won't be surprised if this one is snapped at immense speed.
